What is a Network Video Recorder (NVR), and how is it different from a DVR?
An NVR is a surveillance system that records video from IP (network-enabled) cameras over a data network. Unlike DVRs, which work with analog–specific cameras, NVRs are designed specifically for digital systems and typically offer better image quality, remote access, and easier scalability if growth is required, which typically makes them very well suited to commercial setups.
How many IP cameras can I connect to an NVR?
At Videcon, we’re aware that our clients have a wide range of potential setup sizes that they may need to implement, which is why we supply our NVRs at every channel range for your needs. From 4 and 8 channel NVRs all the way up to very high capacity 64 channel systems, we’ll help you scale your CCTV setup no matter the size.
Do you supply them with PoE?
Yes, a number of our products come with PoE which is stated in the product name and description.
Can I access the Recorder remotely?
Many of our Network Video Recorders support remote access, allowing you to monitor live feeds, play recordings, and manage settings from wherever you are.
What should I consider when choosing an NVR for a large facility?
For larger premises, consider devices with higher channel capacity and support for multiple HDDs for storage, as well as reliability factors - several of the Network Video Recorders we supply for CCTV have built-in ANR technology, which is designed to enhance the recorder’s storage reliability when its network is disconnected.
